Squarespace iphone giveaway is cheap advertising
Squarespace has offered to giveaway 30 iPhones in 30 days. Now, I wonder. Is this offer going to include the two year's service everyone must commit to use the phone, retail units for people already using ATT, etc.? Curious, but unimportant. Basically this is a 6,000 USD ad campaign that put serious marketing bang in the buck.
Tired of Twitter's stupid follow policy changes
I've probably said I wasn't going to deal with this anymore, before. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of talking about it. But, people keep asking.
Twitter has a posted policy that basically says they block people that are agressive followers, violate their [published] rules, or follow more than X per cent of their followers' number. Fact is they just make it up as they go and it changes.
ACH security could be simple, so why doesn't it exist?
I recently had a bogus ACH transaction take place on my checking account. The outcome is that I had to spend time physically going to the bank, filling out paperwork, filing a complaint, and then wait patiently for the company with whom I have no existing relationship to return my funds. They take, I wait. That's how bogus ACH transactions go.
Big business responsive on social media
Social media has forced big business to sit up and take notice. People are talking, talking about them, and anyone can make a complaint blow up quickly. Thanks to social media some virtual nobody can bring corporate misbehavior to the social media equivalent of the front page.
@Allstate took my money, @Wachovia did their job, and I'm out $ + time
Background: I'm about to make a cell phone payment and notice my balance is lower than it should be. Allstate took a payment from my account. Problem? I use State Farm. Bottom line is, Allstate just took money from my checking account and I have no relationship whatsoever with the company. Yes, they can (and do) do that. It happens all the time to all sorts of people all over the US.
Will GoogleWave wash away other socials?
Google has managed to capture investor attention as well as the working technology sector without even releasing the product/service public access. Google is now officially in eyeball deep on the social media experience. So, Facebook, Twitter, friendfeed, and all their budding competitors (friends maybe) are in competition with Google. Nobody likes that, I assure you.

Free Speech means free to say what we say you can
The debate over Facebook's decision to allow Holocaust deniers to continue spewing their vitriol has many upset. The idea is that such speech should be censored in the private space of Facebook. Some agree with European laws that make such conversations, even suggesting the numbers may be inaccurate, a crime punishable by imprisonment.
