I saw Phil Town at a conglomerate seminar that included people like Tom Hopkins and Zig Ziglar. His blog should be a good read. His recent book, Rule #1, is likely also a good read. There's no way that losing money is a good idea, so I tend to believe that Rule #1 (DON'T LOSE MONEY) is a good investment mantra. He was pitching the InvesTools seminar, so I bit.
When I went to the InvesTools seminar/training, I mostly received a good pitch on buying their $23,000 training course. It was a good training for someone that didn't already spend a lot of time researching the market. Their entry-level program/prduct is very useful. You can track candlesticks, institutional investor behavior, fundamentals, and a lot more. I'd say the tool is fairly useful and worth their $1000 sticker price.
A competing training program on Learn-Trading-Easy, an eBay store, seems to offer comparisons between his product and InvesTools and Optionetics.
