At around ten this morning, my power went off and I heard a loud explosion. I assumed a transformer had blown up. We lose lightbulbs daily to the constant power fluctuations. So, it seemed due. As I walked around outside and talked to a neighbor about the explosion, a power company truck drove by and found the problem. It turns out that it wasn't a transformer that blew. It was a fuse. I didn't even realize that neighborhoods had fuses, let alone that they could make that kind of noise when they blow.
