Video killed the blog star
People love video, when they want entertainment. Well made videos can help educate people. But, when someone wants a clear answer to a question videos drive visitors crazy.
Most people can read faster than they can listen, and they can scan even faster. If you cover material that is remedial for the viewer a video can drive the poor overworked, information soaked viewer to commit the worst crime of all - leave.
There is no simple way to fast-forward a video to see if the desired answer is there, then back up and review like we do in print. Video is nice, and it pets the subject's ego. A video may be a nice addition to a text and graphic article. But, for most information it's simply slower than text and graphics.
