Squarespace iphone giveaway is cheap advertising
Squarespace has offered to giveaway 30 iPhones in 30 days. Now, I wonder. Is this offer going to include the two year's service everyone must commit to use the phone, retail units for people already using ATT, etc.? Curious, but unimportant. Basically this is a 6,000 USD ad campaign that put serious marketing bang in the buck.
Squarespace is a hosting/service provider, much like my company. It's a Content Management System, much like our's. And, it has some nice widgets, bells and whistles that are neat and useful to commercial bloggers. Most modern websites will benefit from the service. It does not seem to include a store feature. I am positive this will soon change. The launch is very smart.
How does the ad campaign work? People are told to Twitter the hashtag #squarespace and people are doing it like mad. To the Twitter user it seems simple: virtually cost free input for a chance to win an iPhone. The coup was launching this campaign the day the new iPhone was announced.
