Lifestyle blogging (my online journal)

I need to track what I eat, and since I have a blog (accessible from anywhere, a few readers that may speak up to offer advice or keep me honest), I'm going to start tracking my progress here. I'm likely to block access to these once they become large and personal enough, limiting access to friends, family or maybe site members. Right now, it's all open. Since the diet is just a part of an entire lifestyle overhaul, this is going to be more of a personal journal than simply a food journal. It's not meant to be exhibitionist. It's just the fastest way I know to start journaling in a consistent, structured manner. It is primarily just for me. But, feel free to join me.

Wednesday 2010 06 23: I had intended to wake early, and didn't. Staying up until 4AM likely didn't help that goal. There's a blog entry about that problem and how it impairs all other forms of disciplined behavior. The index card I wrote on last night has a list of things I'm to do today.

Start by walking: check! Eat lean breakfast... well, if you call a 1PM egg white and cream cheese plate breakfast, then halfway check there too. Eat lunch at noon. Nope, that didn't happen. Notice I didn't have wake up at X. I let myself sleep late because I knew that would make me more productive. It did. But, bedtime has to be set tonight. I'm adding that now. Go to bed at X, lights out, quiet house. So, the rest of the list is undone. I did have a friendly computer repair job (freebie for a friend). I can already tell he's getting antsy and it was a very bad idea. Freebies always place stress on your relationship, especially when you're offering services the other person doesn't understand. He wants professional level service, but I'm not charging, so billing clients move ahead. Logical. It doesn't change the fact that he's irritated. Note to self: only take free work after paid work is complete, and make it clear that it will be back burner attention. Also, avoid taking on free work. I need to stick to “fixing PCs isn't really my thing.” If I had a shop, or an associate that I could trust it would help. I've still got a nine point list of actions for today – too many. And, I have ten lines of things I need to do for improved lifestyle. The hardest on that list is “No coffee, bread, sugar and eat to live.”

Progress.
